Luke Sanger aka Duke Slammer has been a busy boy lately, from regular appearances at Berlin’s infamous Panorama Bar, to composing soundtracks for the Ubisoft video games. In this installment (the first of Cosmic Pint Glass' Keg series) Luke dons his Slammer hat for a holiday inspired selection aimed at the dance floor.
‘Pack The Picnic: Box Jams' takes inspiration from the vast Norfolk sky and coastline. Slammer takes to his hardware to jam out a strain of melodic techno that bear resemblance to acts like DMX Krew and Larry Heard.
The 6 track EP starts off with the strangely calm excitement of Hot Springs. Submersed sounds of warm strings take you into a deep into a harmonious world of interesting rhythms and sparkling synths. After feeling fully refreshed Dub Trax pumps up the jam for full on holiday party times! Topping off the excitement a spot of Skinny Dipping back in the rhythmic waves of sound, bubbling up and down.
On the flip In the Bus Lane horn sounds and a jacking beat give us the hussle and bussle of traffic as we get moving across hot tarmac to our next holiday destination. Pump up the Fuzz is a slightly trippy countryside excursion. Muted rhythmic drone give us vast views across open fields with dancing white fuzzy clouds. When the Bubble Bursts gives us a positive finish to our excursion. Playful, popping synths layer over reverbed cords stabs in the most melodic of the selection.
The Keg series only contains original music from a single brewer, but look out for the limited taster 10" which contains another unreleased gem from this excursion, Coastal Decay and also and excruciatingly fruity remix from our man Pan Solo.
